Gas Prices Up 5 Cents Over Past Week in Michigan

(DEARBORN, Mich.) -- AAA Michigan says gasoline prices went up around 5 cents over the past week to an average of $3.74 per gallon, The Detroit Free Press reports.

The organization said the price is about 18 cents per gallon lower than last year at the same time. Of the cities it surveyed, AAA said the cheapest price for self-serve unleaded fuel is in Flint, at $3.68 a gallon, and the highest price is in Marquette at $3.85 a gallon, the paper says.

AAA Michigan surveys 2,800 gas stations across Michigan every day.
