(DETROIT) -- The Michigan state fair is “coming back to Michigan,” Novi Mayor Bob Gatt announced Wednesday morning.
The Detroit Free Press reports that the fair has adopted a new name, a new location and unlike the old Michigan State Fair that closed in 2009 due to lack of funding, the new fair will not require state funding.
The new Great Lakes State Fair will take place at Novi’s Suburban Collection Showplace from Aug.31 to Sept. 3.
Tickets are $25 for adults and children over 12 and $20 for children.
