Militia Leader and Son Plead Guilty to Gun Possession
(DETROIT) -- Two days after a federal judge dismissed a case against seven Hutaree members, the leader and his son pleaded guilty to gun possession charges on Thursday.
The seven members were on trial for conspiring to wage war against the government but the charges were dismissed on Tuesday because the judge said there was not enough evidence. Authorities had argued that the Michigan group had plotted to kill police.
David Stone and Joshua Stone pleaded guilty to possession of a machine gun under a plea deal.
