Arkansas Airports to Get $1.6 Million in Construction Funds

(WASHINGTON) -- The Federal Aviation Administration is giving over $1.6 million to five cities in Arkansas to improve or expand taxiways at local airports, Arkansas News reports.

Pine Bluff will receive $254,034, Warren and Clarksville will each receive $545,835 and Rogers will receive $141,300, all to rehabiliate the taxiways at their airports. Carlisle will receive $157,500 to improve its runway.

Rep. Mike Ross (D-Prescott) said the federal investments will help create the needed infrastructure and safety improvements to keep the airports open and the communities growing, according to the Arkansas News.
