Arkansas Ranked Among Least Most Peaceful States in the Nation

(WASHINGTON) -- Arkansas landed in the bottom 10 of the nation’s most peaceful states, according to an annual United States Peace Index survey issued Tuesday by the Institute for Economics and Peace.

Arkansas came in at No. 44, according to the rankings that were compiled based on the state’s number of homicides, violent crimes and incarceration rate, among other criteria.

The least peaceful state was Louisiana, according to the survey, while Maine ranked the most peaceful state in the county.
