Clerk Shot and Killed in Suspected Convenience Store Robbery

(NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark.) -- A shooting at a North Little Rock store over the weekend has resulted in the death of a convenience store worker.
Police said three men entered the EZ Mart store on MacArthur Drive on Saturday night with the intention of robbing the business, then left. However, one of the suspects then re-entered the store and fatally shoot a store clerk, according to published reports.
In another incident, which investigators believe may be connected to the North Little Rock shooting, police said a Citgo convenience store in Jacksonville was robbed of a sum of money, with a suspect threatening to shoot an employee there, when the worker refused to comply with the robber's demands to open a safe and hand over cigarettes, reports state.
The victim reportedly managed to escape by running from the store.
No arrests were made.
