Inspection of I-540 Bridge to Require Lane Closure

(LITTLE ROCK, Ark.) -- The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department has announced a lane closure along the Interstate 540 Bridge beginning Monday.
Officials said a routine inspection of the bridge will result in the outside lane being closed, alternating between the northbound and southbound sides, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., from Monday through Wednesday.
The portion of I-540 to be affected is over the Arkansas River between Fort Smith and Van Buren.
