Suspect Arrested Following Bomb Threat at ASU Campus
(JONESBORO, Ark.) -- A 44-year-old man was arrested Tuesday afternoon, accused of making a bomb threat that targeted a dormitory at Arkansas State University.
In a statement posted on the university's website, officials said just after 3 p.m. the ASU campus community was notified about a threat directed towards University Hall, which houses nearly 400 female students.
The residence hall was evacuated along with the nearby International Student Center. The statement said that following a room-by-room search by campus police, around 5:37 p.m., students were cleared to return to their rooms as no evidence of a bomb was found.
Carlon Walker, who is reportedly not a student at ASU, was eventually arrested in connection with the bomb threat and taken to Craighead County jail.
