(LITTLE ROCK, Ark.) -- On Thursday, a judge sentenced a teenage driver to pay a $2,500 fine for running over a classmate with his car, ABC affiliate KATV-TV reports.
On Dec. 14, Omar Ayyeh, 19, was backing up his SUV in the parking lot of Hall High School. He stopped for a few seconds and then accelerated towards several students and hit Dayonte Hokes.
Hokes survived, but sustained a major knee injury.
Ayyeh was charged with third degree battery. He plead guilty.
