Thousands Show Support for Alleged Murderer
(LONDON, Ark.) -- A man accused of murder is free on bond. He's also being lauded as a hero by some, ABC affiliate KATV reports.
A.J. Cody allegedly killed 65-year-old Lee Britton at his home in London. Cody and his wife had lived with Britton for several months last year. Cody told police he believed Britton had sexually assaulted his daughter. No charges had been filed against Britton.
A Facebook page showing support for Cody has more than 6,500 members, and the community has set up a fund for donations in Cody's name.
Cody has been charged with first degree murder, and prosecutor David Gibbons told KATV he intends to pursue that charge until the end.
Lee Britton's family buried him at a service in Dardanelle on Wednesday.
