Toddler Drowns in Apartment Complex Swimming Pool

(CONWAY, Ark.) -- Authorities say a 2-year-old boy drowned in a swimming pool after the woman watching him failed to realize he and another child she was watching had left the apartment, ABC affiliate KATV-TV reports.

Police said a witness saw the 2-year-old boy and 3-year-old child in the pool at Westbury Park Apartments on Nutter Chapel Road and called for help around 11 a.m. Friday. The apartment manager pulled both children from the pool, and tried performing CPR on the 2-year-old boy who later died at the hospital. The woman watching the children is the mother of the 3-year-old. The 2-year-old boy who died is her boyfriend's child.

Police are investigating.
