Woman Charged in Westminster Fatal Craash

(WESTMINSTER, Calif.) -- A Westminster woman is scheduled to appear in court on Monday to answer to charges in connection with the death of an eight-year-old boy who was killed in an accident in January.

Anita Cherry has been charged with misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter in the death of Andrew Brumback. Authorities say on January 19, Cherry was headed southbound on Shawnee Road in Westminster when she hit Brumback with her Ford Freestyle vehicle. Investigators say Cherry briefly took her eyes off the road when she struck the boy, who was riding a bicycle at the time.

Cherry faces up to a year behind bars if found guilty.
