Man Shot By School Police in Santa Ana

(SANTA ANA, Calif.) -- A man was shot by a school district police officer during a traffic stop in Santa Ana on Tuesday.

Authorities say officers stopped a car, which was reported stolen, in the vicinity of Fifth and Fairview streets on Tuesday morning, and during the stop an officer shot the suspect, who was driving of the car. After he was shot, the man then got back into the vehicle and fled the scene, driving to a residence on S. Shawnee Drive. He was eventually taken into custody by police and transported to hospital for treatment
