Gov. Haslam Honors Seven Deceased Servicemen

(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) -- Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam honored seven servicemen killed in the line of duty on Thursday at War Memorial Plaza, according to a report in The Tennessean.
For the first time, the service included biological sketches of the seven men, according to the report. Two of the men honored fought in South Korea and Vietnam in the 1950s and '60s and were buried within the last year after their remains had been discovered. Pfc. Frank Primm Jennings went missing in Korea in 1951, and Spc. Marvin Phillips died in a helicopter crash in 1966.
The other five soldiers were killed in Afghanistan in the past year. They included Navy Seal Aaron Carson Vaughn, Lance Cpl. Franklin Namon Watson, Capt. Joshua Sean Lawrence, Sgt. 1st Class Dennis Murray, and Spc. Jason Edens.
