Burn Ban Issued for Seven Tennessee Counties

(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) -- A burn ban remains in effect for seven counties across Tennessee due to extreme dry weather conditions.

A burn ban has been issued by the State Commissioner of Agriculture, Julius Johnson, and is currently in effect until further notice for Cheatham, Dickson, Gibson, Giles, Marshall, Maury and Sumner counties.

Under the ban, the following is prohibited: all open-air burning including leaf and woody debris and construction burning; campfires; outdoor grills; and other fire activity outside of municipalities where local ordinances apply.
