Over 220,000 Tennesseans Vote Early in Aug. Election

(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) -- Over 220,000 Tennesseans have voted absentee by mail or early for the Aug. 2 election, reports the Secretary of State’s office.

Throughout Wednesday the votes have tallied up to 223,281, and Secretary of State Tre Hargett says these are high numbers for early voter turnout.

Voters are able to cast a ballot early through Saturday and need to show a state or federally issued photo ID to vote.
