(MADISONVILLE, Tenn.) -- The ex-boyfriend of Jessica Kennedy, who has been charged with killing Monroe County Election Commission Chairman Jim Miller, testified Thursday that Kennedy admitted to the murder, the Knoxville News Sentinel reports.
Brandon Steele, 34, told the court Kennedy admitted to him that she shot and killed Miller. Steele himself was once listed as a suspect in the murder, but said he had no involvement in Miller's death, the paper says.
Kennedy is charged with felony murder, aggravated robbery, abuse of a corpse and arson in Miller's July 2010 murder. The trial continues Friday, and may last into next week.
