Billy Currington Plans to Record a Complete Soul Album

Mercury RecordsBilly Currington has shown off his soulful side on hits like "Must Be Doin' Somethin' Right," "Don't" and "Let Me Down Easy." His dream project is to push that side even more with a complete album of soul songs. "I want to get together with someone like a Babyface or someone like that [and] just to do it," Billy says. "I was dreaming that when I was dreaming of being in the country music industry also at the same time as a little kid."

There's no timeline for when Billy might release his soul album, but he does know he wants the songs to be original. A few covers may creep into the track listing though. Early contenders for those slots include the classic "Georgia On  My Mind" and Stevie Wonder's "Signed, Sealed, Delivered."  Says Billy, "I'm gonna make it happen." Billy's current single, "Love Done Gone," is from his latest album, Enjoy Yourself.
