Company Offers Lady Gaga $500K to Wear "Bone Dress" to MTV VMAs
Kevin Winter/Getty ImagesWhat can possibly top the "meat dress" that Lady Gaga wore to last year's MTV Video Music Awards? A "bone dress," of course.
E! Online reports that PigofTheMonth.com, which sells barbecue meats and sauces, has offered Gaga half a million dollars to wear a dress made out of bones to the award show next month. According to E!, the company is claiming that it's teaming up with a well-known fashion designer to create this "bone dress," which will include barbecue sauce accessories and makeup.
The CEO of PigofTheMonth.com tells E! that the dress weighs about 12 pounds, but, she says, "[Gaga] would still be able to move in a normal fashion." It sounds like a silly publicity stunt, but the company is also planning to auction off the dress to benefit "Bones for Hunger," a financial assistance program for struggling artists. If Gaga turns them down, the company says they'll try to get someone to wear the bone dress during New York City's next Fashion Week event.
