Daughtry Plays Tribute to ZZ Top on New CD

ShowDog/Universal MusicLast year, Chris Daughtry joined rock legend Carlos Santana on the album Guitar Heaven.  This year, he and Daughtry are paying tribute to some other rock legends: famed Texas trio ZZ Top

Daughtry is one of the many acts featured on A Tribute From Friends, an album of ZZ Top classics recorded by today's artists.  The band performs a medley of two ZZ Top numbers on the disc: "Waitin' for the Bus" and "Jesus Just Left Chicago."  Speaking about their participation in the record, Chris said in a statement, "We were completely honored!  A classic great band with amazing songs?  We're in!"  Talking about ZZ Top's music, Chris said, "It's classic!  Simple chord progressions, great riffs with hooky choruses...very inspiring to a band like us.”

In addition to Daughtry, other acts on the album include Steven Tyler, Wyclef Jean, Nickelback and Mick Fleetwood and John McVie of Fleetwood Mac.  It'll be in stores October 11.
