My Chemical Romance, The Killers, Tom Morello, Slash Take Part in "HAITI: Aid Still Required" Campaign
AidStillRequired.orgThursday, January 12 marks two full years since a devastating earthquake hit Haiti, plunging what was already the poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere into a nightmare of death, destruction, homelessness. The tragedy has been pushed off the front page, but many top musical artists are making sure that today, everyone remembers that the people of Haiti still need their help.
As part of the "HAITI: Aid Still Required" campaign, artists including My Chemical Romance, The Killers, Tom Morello, Slash and others have pledged to use their Twitter and Facebook accounts Thursday to rekindle interest in helping Haiti. Combined, the more than 40 participating celebrities have 125 million social media followers. For example, My Chemical Romance has tweeted, "Today marks the 2nd anniversary of the #Haiti quake. See how you can help at: http://bit.ly/wTtw7y #AidStillRequired."
