Blake Shelton and "The Voice" Judges Prepare to Take on "American Idol" Next Month

Warner Bros. RecordsBlake Shelton returns as a judge on NBC's The Voice February 5 following the Super Bowl. This is the first time the show has aired at the same time of year as American Idol, but Blake and his fellow judges --  Cee Lo Green, Christina Aguilera and Maroon 5's Adam Levine  -- are up for the challenge. "All four of us are nominated for Grammys this year," Blake points out to Entertainment Weekly. "We have hits. So when we give advice, you'd better listen up"

Of course, some of Blake's advice will be influenced by alcohol. He says, "If we're watching somebody perform and it's not a make-or-break situation, you're damn right I'm drinking a beer or a mixed drink. That's just me. That's how I enjoy music."

Blake will welcome his wife Miranda Lambert and their pal Kelly Clarkson on The Voice this season too. Blake, Miranda and Kelly are also on this year's Super Bowl performance roster: Kelly is expected to sing the national anthem, and Blake and Miranda are reportedly singing "America the Beautiful." A confirmation from the NFL on those performances should be coming soon.

In other news from The Voice, Blake and Cee-Lo are actually working on a song together. They revealed that little tidbit in a video posted to NBC.com promoting the upcoming season. Christina Aguilera also said she's talked to Miranda about possibly collaborating on something too.
