Any competition between the stars of American Idol and The Voice seems to have been put aside on New Year's with Idol alum Kelly Clarkson celebrating alongside Voice mates Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, and his wife Miranda Lambert. Anne V., Adam's girlfriend, tweeted a photo of the moment saying, "Best New Years ever!!!" While Kelly tweeted she was "having the time of my life in Oklahoma with great friends!! Happy New Years Eve everybody!! 2012 is gonna be a great year!" The photo shows the five friends laughing with Adam, Anne and Kelly with their tongues out while Kelly is playfully licked on the shoulder by Miranda and Blake smiles for the camera.
The good time seems to be a much needed break for Kelly who recently had been criticized by some fans for her support of Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul due to the racist and defamatory comments that were published in several of his newsletters in the 1990s -- of which Ron said he had been unaware. Despite the earlier Twitter backlash, Kelly's comments seem to have had a positive affect on sales of her album, Stronger, Entertainment Weekly reports. Since Rongate, Stronger has moved up to #11 on the iTunes albums chart, and, on Amazon, the album has bumped up to #14 after charting in the 40s.
