Michael Bolton to Star in ABC Comedy

Facebook.com/MBSingsMichael Bolton’s recent guest appearances on Two and a Half Men and Saturday Night Live, the latter on which he played Captain Jack Sparrow in a video short, have apparently convinced producers in Hollywood to give him his own comedy series.  Deadline.com reports the Grammy-winning singer will play a fictional version of himself in an ABC project entitled Michael Bolton’s Daughter Is Destroying My Life.

The half-hour comedy is loosely based on actress Allison Miller’s actual encounters with celebrities when she first moved to Hollywood.  According to the report, the sitcom centers on a young writer who takes a job handling “social media” for Michael Bolton.  The character soon becomes overwhelmed dealing with Bolton and his “wild-child” daughter.

Miller currently co-stars in NBC’s Go On and is not expected to appear on Michael Bolton’s Daughter, but that could change.

In other Bolton news, his memoir, The Soul of It All, is due out November 13.
