Earth, Wind & Fire and award-winning pop/R&B singer and actress Jennifer Hudson will honor music industry veteran Clive Davis at the 15th Anniversary of the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation Fall Gala, taking place October 27 in Old Greenwich, Connecticut. Davis will be presented with the MMRF Spirit of Hope Award, which is given each year to individuals who inspire others with their perseverance in overcoming personal obstacles.
Jermaine Paul, who won the second season of The Voice, also will perform during the tribute concert and benefit. The charity event will help fund research for treatments tackling multiple myeloma, an incurable blood cancer.
"We are so thankful to have Jennifer Hudson, Earth, Wind & Fire and Jermaine Paul joining the MMRF to help honor Clive Davis and support our urgent work," says the foundation's founder and CEO, Kathy Giusti, who also suffers from myeloma. "The endorsement of our mission by these talented musicians, who are joining us to celebrate this momentous event, is critical to raising awareness for this rare cancer."
Earth, Wind & Fire currently have only one other appearance scheduled on their 2012 itinerary, a December 31 show in Verona, New York.
