John Cusack Re-Enacts Classic "Say Anything" Scene During Peter Gabriel Concert

Image credit: Timothy NorrisActor John Cusack surprised Peter Gabriel fans at a sold-out Hollywood Bowl concert Saturday by appearing onstage alongside the Grammy Award-winning musician to re-enact a memorable scene from the classic 1989 movie Say Anything.

Cusack walked on stage to launch the song “In Your Eyes” while holding aloft an 80s-style boom box, bringing back memories of his Say Anything character Lloyd Dobler hoping to woo Diane Court, played by Ione Skye.  Cusack then handed the boom box to Gabriel, who hoisted it over his own head.

Gabriel is in the midst of the North American leg of his Back to Front tour, which showcases the singer accompanied by members of the original band he toured with 25 years ago after his So album was released.  The concert includes a performance of the So album in its entirety.

The outing is scheduled through an October 14 show in Fairfax, Virginia.

The 25th Anniversary box set of So is available October 23.
