Mariah Carey to Ring in 2013 in Australia

Facebook.com/MariahCareyMariah Carey is headed Down Under for her first shows in Australia in 15 years.  The Daily Telegraph reports that Mariah will perform January 1 at Jupiters Hotel and Casino in Queensland, and at the Allphones Arena in Sydney on January 3. 

Mariah's concert promoter tells the paper, "It's going to be a very high-production show, featuring all her greatest hits and some of her Christmas songs."

The last time Mariah performed in Australia was on her Butterfly tour, back in 1998.  The Daily Telegraph notes that one of those shows Down Under featured Mariah duetting with famed Aussie Olivia Newton-John on the Grease classic "Hopelessly Devoted to You."

Mariah's stint on American Idol will begin on January 16.
