Many people will be carving into a roast turkey during the holidays, but Paul McCartney won't be one of them. The rock legend, of course, is an avid vegetarian and an outspoken supporter of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, or PETA. Now, Sir Paul is appearing in a new PETA advertisement calling on people to consider eating a meat-free meal on Thanksgiving.
The ad shows McCartney wearing an "Eat No Turkey" T-shirt, with an image of a gobbler rather than the actual word "turkey." Next to the ex-Beatles star's photo is a tag line that reads "Say 'No Thanks' to Turkey on Thanksgiving: Go Vegetarian."
An article on the animal-rights organization's website discusses McCartney's involvement in the campaign, and links to a page that features a wide variety of "cruelty-free recipes" that the singer is planning to enjoy during the holidays.
