Ringo Starr Voicing "Powerpuff Girls" Character, Starting Work on New CD

Photo: Rob ShannahanRingo Starr has more to share with his fans than just his famous "peace and love" catchphrase.  The ex-Beatles drummer has posted a new video revealing some news about his latest endeavors.

In the clip, Starr reports that he recently recorded the voice of a character named Mr. Fibonacci that will appear in the upcoming season of the Cartoon Network series The Powerpuff Girls

"It's gonna be great next year," he says. "I'm going to be animated."

Ringo also reveals that he's in the early stages of working on a new album.  "I've started, in a slow sort of way, the new CD I'm making," he notes.  "It hasn't got a title yet, but we've got plenty of time."

Starr also briefly discusses his recently announced All Starr Band tour leg, which will visit New Zealand, Australia and Japan during the late winter.  According to RingoStarr.com, the trek kicks off on February 7 in Christchurch, New Zealand, and runs through a March 1 show in Osaka, Japan.

Ringo closes out his update by wishing everyone a "Merry Christmas" and a "great Thanksgiving."
