Stevie Nicks Says She and Lindsey Buckingham Have Recorded New Fleetwood Mac Songs; Dishes on Tour Plans
Last month, Stevie Nicks revealed that she and Lindsey Buckingham were thinking about recording some new material to release next year in conjunction with Fleetwood Mac's planned reunion tour. Stevie gave an update about the status of these new tunes while on the red carpet at the premiere of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 earlier this week.
"I was in the studio with Lindsey last week for four days and we did record two songs," she said, according to STV.tv. "We are probably going to throw them out a month before we go [on tour]."
As for the time frame of the trek, Nicks said the band will rehearse "for six weeks," starting on January 15. She added that the Mac "will probably be on the road by the end of April."
Stevie also explained that the group wants to make this outing different from the ones it mounted in 2009 and 2003-2004. "I think we are going to go through our catalog and pull some really neat stuff that we don't usually do on stage," she maintained. "We are really going to make an effort to make this really special and something brand new for everybody to see because there are so many songs."
In addition, Nicks said she expects Fleetwood to play about 50 North American dates, as well as about 17 in Australia and 15 in Europe. "So it's a…big world tour," she adds.
