Photo by Sarah A. FriedmanAaron Neville will revisit the songs of his youth during a New York City taping of the PBS special Aaron Neville: My True Story. Neville's performance will take place at New York City's Brooklyn Bowl venue on Wednesday, November 28, and PBS will broadcast the concert in March 2013.
The set list for Aaron's show includes Little Anthony and the Imperials' "Tears on My Pillow," Hank Ballard & the Midnighters' "Work with Me Annie," along with The Drifters' "Money Honey," "Under the Boardwalk" and "This Magic Moment."
Not only did those songs provide the soundtrack for Neville's childhood, but they proved influential over the course of his five-decade career. The Grammy Award-winning artist continues to make music, and is set to release his upcoming, doo-wop inspired album My True Story on January 22.
A sampling of the album is available now on Aaron's website, where fans can also download his song "Ting A Ling" for free, for a limited time.
