Back in August, Rick Ross revealed to MTV that his God Forgives, I Don't featured guest Andre 3000 would direct the music video for their song together, "Sixteen." But Andre tells Global Grind that he and Rick had to scrap those plans.
"It actually didn't happen because of timing," Andre tells Global Grind. "I got into another project. I really hated that we didn't get that going."
Andre, who stars in the upcoming Jimi Hendrix biopic All Is by My Side, says he still has his eye on the director's chair. "I've always kinda been into ideas and even early OutKast videos -- you know, I've always been part of the concept and what is it's going to look like. I just didn't have the skill."
Now Andre says that he's trying to learn, so he can get behind the camera.
Also in the interview, Andre talks about hanging out with his 14-year-old son, Seven. "We ride around in the car, and we listen to the same music. It's just interesting now that I have to explain lyrics to him, and we have 'who's the best rapper conversations,' and I have to explain what Lil Wayne means when he says nasty stuff," Andre says laughing.
