The Dukes of September Taping NYC Concert for PBS Special Tonight

MichaelMcDonald.comThe Dukes of September Rhythm Revue, the supergroup featuring Steely Dan's Donald Fagen, ex-Doobie Brother Michael McDonald and Boz Scaggs, will play a special concert tonight in New York City that will be taped for an upcoming episode of PBS' Great Performances.  Local public station WNET, which is filming the event, recently made tickets available for the show to viewers who pledged $60 to the channel.

According to Billboard.com, the concert, which is being held at the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center, will eventually be released on DVD by the 429 Records label.  In an interview with ABC News Radio last month, Fagen had revealed that the PBS special was "in the works" but gave no details about when it was to take place.

The Dukes of September recently completed a brief tour of Japan, and Billboard.com reports that the collective intends to hit the road again in late 2013 and early 2014.

The Dukes perform songs from the group members' respective catalogs, as well as a variety of covers.  During some of their recent gigs, the group's set list included tunes by such artists as Marvin Gaye, Sly & the Family Stone, The Isley Brothers, Chuck Berry and James Brown.
