BonhamsA variety of items that belonged to the late George Harrison will be up for bid as part of a memorabilia sale that will be hosted by Bonhams auctioneers on December 12 in London.  Among the many collectibles going on the block will be the black leather jacket that the Beatles guitarist wore frequently during the band's early years performing in Liverpool, England, and Hamburg, Germany.

The auction also will offer an acoustic guitar played by the pre-Beatles group The Quarrymen along with a letter typewritten by Paul McCartney.  That lot is expected to sell for as much as $40,000.  Other memorabilia up for bid include collectibles from, or relating to, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin, Elton John, Michael Jackson, David Bowie, Fleetwood Mac, Queen and U2.
