It's official: Fergie is planning a new solo album. Speaking to reporters at a charity event, the singer said a new solo album "will come definitely," adding, "When, is something I can't promise...I don't want to rush anything out."
Fergie told reporters that with the Black Eyed Peas on a break, she now has time for songwriting. "With the chaos of a tour, I didn't get a lot of time to do that, so now I'm getting all these ideas and feelings and writing them down and kind of nurturing them."
Her first solo album, The Duchess, was released in 2006 and has gone triple platinum in the US, spawning the hit singles "London Bridge," "Fergalicious" and "Big Girls Don't Cry."
Meanwhile, as she's nursing her next musical project, Fergie is plunging full speed ahead in the world of fashion. She's already designed a line of footwear and now she's designing a line of cases for smartphones and tablets for Case-Mate, reports Women's Wear Daily. Fergie is already a spokesperson for the company. And she's as proud of her design work as she is of her music. "I get so happy and excited when I see people on the street in my shoes," she tells the magazine. "It's almost more exciting now than hearing my song on the radio."
Fergie's smartphone and tablet cases are due in the spring of 2013.
