Talking trash about her ex-boyfriends in song and allegedly crashing a wedding earlier this year apparently weren't serious enough infractions to keep Taylor Swift from being named 2012's Best-Mannered Celebrity. The birthday girl, who turns 23 on Thursday, received the honor from the National League of Junior Cotillions, which trains young people in etiquette and social skills.
Taylor was deemed the most polite star of the year for "inspiring young people with her music and her manners." The National Director of the NLJC added in a statement, "Taylor Swift was chosen for the exemplary manner in which she has conducted herself, on and off stage as a musician and songwriter."
The only other musician on this year's top 10 list was Justin Bieber, for "consistently showing courtesy to his many fans." Other big names on the list include Olympic Gold medalist Gabby Douglas, Matt Damon, Kate Middleton, Daniel Radcliffe and Michelle Obama.
As for this year's biggest boor, Prince Harry of Wales takes the title of Most Ill-Mannered Person of 2012 “for disregarding his prestigious title and misbehaving in the public spotlight.” No doubt that's a reference to those photos that surfaced last October of him cavorting nude with friends in a Las Vegas hotel room.
