Wiz Khalifa's "O.N.I.F.C." Debuts at #2 on "Billboard" 200 Albums Chart
Atlantic Records/Darren AnkenmanWiz Khalifa's O.N.I.F.C. album is soaring high on the Billboard 200 Albums chart, debuting at #2 on that cross-genre list. The Grammy nominee's sophomore set sold more than 141,000 units in its first week out, according to Nielsen SoundScan. His previous album, Rolling Papers, also debuted at #2.
And speaking of Rolling Papers, Wiz tweeted a special message to his hometown on Wednesday: "I also wanna thank the city of Pittsburgh for making 12-12 'Wiz Khalifa Day' in the burgh. Get stoned :-)"
Thanks to Wiz' enthusiasm for weed, Wiz Khalifa Day has sparked a little backlash in Pittsburgh. According to a local TV station, some people aren't happy about Wiz's stoner persona and the "DOPE" hat that he wore to City Hall on Tuesday when he was recognized by the City Council. Some Pittsburgh residents don't think Wiz is the kind of guy the city should be celebrating, but who can argue when he created the city anthem "Black and Yellow"?
