A$AP Rocky Reveals His Father's Passing

Facebook.com/ASAPRockyA$AP Rocky's father has died.  The Harlem native posted a photo of his dad on Instagram Wednesday afternoon, writing, "R.I.P DAD , UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN . 'SEE MY DADDY IN HEAVEN , HE BE DA REALIST G' TTTL."

It's unclear what caused the death, or when it happened. 

A$AP Rocky has spoken about his dad in interviews, crediting both his parents with naming him Rakim as a nod to the legendary Rakim, of Eric B. & Rakim fame.

Rihanna, who is slated to feature A$AP Rocky on the North American leg of her Diamonds world tour, paid her respects via Twitter.  "My most sincere condolences bro #BajanBlood..." she wrote.

The sad news comes as Rocky prepares for the release of his debut album Long Live A$AP, which is due out January 15.  A video for the title track, "Long Live A$AP," was released over the weekend.
