Snoop Lion Signs Deal With RCA Records to Release "Reincarnated" Album in Spring 2013

Just when some fans were wondering whether Snoop Lion's reggae and dancehall-influenced album would ever see the light of day, there's news.  Snoop just signed a deal with RCA Records to unleash his new project, Reincarnated, in spring 2013.

The first track off the set is the Diplo-produced song "Here Comes the King," featuring Angela Hunte.  "'Here Comes The King' is a taste of what's to come off that Reincarnated album and movie. It's going to be an exciting 2013. Bless up," Snoop says in a statement.

The "movie" that Snoop's referring to is the Reincarnated documentary that follows him on his spiritual journey through Jamaica, where the people and culture helped shape his transition into Snoop Lion.

Produced in conjunction with VICE magazine and Mad Decent, the documentary also documents the recording of Snoop's Reincarnated album.  "Major Lazer and I had a special opportunity to focus on recording Reincarnated from top-to-bottom with no interruptions in Jamaica," Snoop says.  "From my time spent with the people and in the streets, these songs are based on peace, love, and the struggle."

More information on the film will be released in the future.
