Stevie Nicks Shares Details About New Fleetwood Mac Songs

FleetwoodMac.comStevie Nicks had revealed in recent interviews that Fleetwood Mac planned to release some new music before heading out on tour next year, and now that the band has announced dates for the trek the singer is sharing some details about the new material.  Nicks tells Billboard that Fleetwood Mac recorded three tracks last month at singer/guitarist Lindsey Buckingham's home studio.

Stevie reports that two of the tunes, "Sad Angela" and "Miss Fantasy," are brand-new, while the third dates back to the sessions for the 1973 Buckingham Nicks album, which she and Lindsey released prior to joining Fleetwood Mac.

About the latter song, Nicks explains that both she and Buckingham can't "figure out why it didn't go on the record."

The singer adds that the tunes likely will be released digitally in January or February, noting that "since nobody really cares about albums anymore, if you can come up with two or three great songs and just put them out there...people can at least hear how we sound today."

Nicks also says that she's impressed how youthful and fresh the group sounds on the tracks.

"It's really wild to me.  It blows my mind," she declares.  "Because we've never stopped, our voices and everything...sound extremely young to me because when you keep working, things don't change."

Regarding the new tour, which kicks off on April 4 in Columbus, Ohio, Stevie wants to stress that it's not a reunion trek.

"We didn't break up.  We never break up," she maintains.  "We just take a break and do our own things, and when it's time [to regroup] everybody's ready."

She compares getting together with the band again after its hiatus to "a big, fantastic Halloween party when you haven't been to a Halloween party in three years."

The Fleetwood Mac tour currently is mapped out through a June 12 concert in Detroit.  Visit FleetwoodMac.com to check out all the dates.
