Usually, award shows are all about getting -- trophies, recognition, applause. But Colbie Caillat, Natasha Bedingfield and Lifehouse will all be performing on an award show this weekend that's about just the opposite.
The second annual American Giving Awards, airing this Saturday night, will recognize the efforts of a variety of charitable organizations. In addition, actress Glenn Close will receive the American Giving Leadership Award for her charity work. Close's sister lives with bipolar disorder, while her nephew also has a mental illness; the actress co-founded BringChange2Mind, a nonprofit organization that works to end the stigma surrounding mental illness.
On the telecast, Colbie, Natasha, Lifehouse and Hootie & the Blowfish frontman-turned-country-star Darius Rucker will all be performing tributes to representatives from all the charities nominated for awards. Presenters include Anthony Anderson, Jenna Elfman, Jenna Fischer, Jamie-Lynn Sigler and Gary Sinise; Joel McHale will host.
The American Giving Awards Presented by Chase air Saturday at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
