Kelly Clarkson Celebrates Platinum Sales of "Stronger," May Celebrate #1 Hit Next Week
Brad Barket/PictureGroupKelly Clarkson's album Stronger has had some strong sales. Released in October, the disc has already been certified platinum for one million albums sold worldwide. Kelly was given her platinum plaque backstage at her concert in New York City last month. The album's title track, "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)," is also going strong on the chart: it's currently #2 on the Billboard Hot 100, behind Adele's "Set Fire to the Rain." But the fact that a ridiculous amount of people are going to watch Kelly belt out the national anthem this Sunday at the Super Bowl may very well give the single the boost needed to take it to #1.
If that happens, "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)," it will be Kelly's third #1 hit, following "A Moment Like This" and "My Life Would Suck Without You."
