Sara Bareilles Thrilled Kelly Clarkson Covered Her Song in Concert

SaraBMusic.comAt each stop on her current Stronger tour, Kelly Clarkson has been treating audiences to interesting cover songs -- chosen by her fans -- by artists ranging from Cee Lo Green to Coldplay to Heart.  But one of her more recent cover versions has received a big thumbs up from the artist who originally recorded it: Sara Bareilles.

Tuesday night in Durham, North Carolina, Kelly performed "Gravity," a cut from Sara's debut album Little Voice.  When she was finished singing, she told the audience, "I just think [Sara's] such a beautiful writer, such a beautiful singer.  I'm glad y'all picked her, 'cause I'm a huge fan of that song."  She then encouraged everyone in the crowd to buy a copy.

A giddy Sara tweeted a link to a video of the performance, and added, "Holy pipes, Batman! Kelly Clarkson sang Gravity. Woah. Gurrrl. Can. SANG. So cool!"  Kelly should feel doubly proud about Sara's comments, since, after all, she's a judge on NBC's reality competition The Sing-Off.
