Alan Jackson Plays Hit After Hit for Crowd at Country Radio Seminar

Schmidt RelationsAlan Jackson performed at the annual Country Radio Seminar Thursday giving the convention goers a set filled with his biggest hits and his new single, "So You Don't Have to Love Me Anymore."  He recalled his early days at radio and performed bits of his early hits "Here in the Real World" and "Chattahoochee" during the show.  Alan also acknowledged all the hungover radio folks in the lunch-time crowd performing "Pop a Top," "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere" and his George Strait duet "Designated Drinker."

During the set, Alan told the story of Zac Brown pitching him the hit song "Chicken Fried" before Zac cut it himself.  Alan passed on it since he already had the hit song "Where I Come From," which references cornbread and chicken.  Alan said of the decision, "That was probably stupid."  Of course, Alan went on to hit #1 with Zac Brown Band on the song "As She's Walking Away."

Alan told the audience his new album is pretty much finished, and it could be out as soon as this May.  He was also recognized as being second only to Merle Haggard in country music with writing and recording the most #1 hits.  Alan has penned 24 chart toppers total.
