Carlos Santana to Begin New Las Vegas Residency in May

Facebook.com/CarlosSantanaCarlos Santana has signed on to play a two-year series of concerts in Las Vegas at the House of Blues at the Mandalay Bay Hotel starting May 2.  The shows, dubbed "An Intimate Evening with Santana: Greatest Hits Live -- Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow 2012," follow a similar residency by the guitar legend that took place from 2009 to 2011 at Las Vegas' The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel.

"I am deeply honored that our new home in Las Vegas is the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay," Carlos said in a statement.  "I have long admired their love of 'the Blues' and that it is a world-class entertainment venue.  We hope to honor and celebrate the diversity and brotherhood of world culture that the House of Blues promotes."

Vegas' House of Blues has been redesigned specifically for Santana's performances.  The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer currently has concerts scheduled at the venue in May, June, September, October and November.

Some proceeds raised by the shows will benefit the Milagro Foundation, which Santana co-founded in 1998, and the International House of Blues Foundation.
