Jack Johnson to Release Live Album for Charity Featuring Collaborations with Eddie Vedder, Dave Matthews, Ben Harper

Brushfire RecordsIf you’ve never been to Hawaii for Jack Johnson’s annual Kokua Festival, here’s your chance to check out some music from the event.  In April, Johnson is set to release a 13-track compilation which will feature live performances from the festival's archives. Titled Jack Johnson and Friends - Best of Kokua Festival, the album includes collaborations with Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder, Dave Matthews, Tim Reynolds, Ben Harper, Ziggy and Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley, among others.

In addition to original songs by Johnson, the track list also includes cover versions of Bob Marley’s “High Tide or Low Tide,” Bob Dylan’s “I Shall Be Released” and Jimmy Buffet’s “A Pirate Looks at Forty.”

Jack Johnson and Friends - Best of Kokua Festival is due out on April 17.  Proceeds from the album will benefit the Kokua Hawaii Foundation, a nonprofit organization founded by Johnson and his wife in 2003 to support environmental education in the schools and communities of Hawaii.
