Internet sensation Lana Del Rey made herself even more well known last month by delivering what many said was a less-than-stellar musical performance on Saturday Night Live. Now the New York Post reports that appearance has prompted the singer to postpone a tour in support of her just released debut album, Born to Die.
The Post quotes a source as saying “[Lana] and her manager decided to cancel [the tour] after SNL.” The newspaper quotes another source that claims Interscope Records and Del Ray’s booking agents realized after her SNL appearance that she wasn’t prepared to tour, and live shows would have hurt record sales. A label rep told the Post that “Interscope had nothing to do with booking or postponing a tour.”
Del Rey’s tour was scheduled to begin in March and include 30 dates.
The report says Del Rey is busy in the studio working on her performance and her handlers are already planning to “re-think the tour.”
