The Twitter world didn't crumble when Nicki Minaj deactivated her account over a week ago, but the rapper's fans may be crushed when they see video from her interview with BBC 1Xtra's Tim Westwood.
Nicki, donning a purple wig and fluorescent yellow mini-skirt, was asked if she would be coming back to Twitter. Answering in a British accent, Nicki says, "No... I miss my Barbz. But I can't come back. I just can't, Tim. Don't make me. Please don't."
And as if that isn't enough to drive any Barb to hysterics, Nicki even mentions retiring from rap. Referring to her latest album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, Nicki says, "People aren't even, you know, giving the kid props for taking it back to that essence." By "essence," Nicki is referring to the vibe of her earlier mixtapes.
"[Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded] is my fourth mixtape really...," Nicki says in what sounds like a Lil Wayne-inspired accent. "The kid did like that to feed her fans. But really now, the kid thinkin' maybe she should leave the game."
Nicki isn't blaming her Barbz, but she says it's "all these other folk" who make her consider exiting "the game."
Nicki goes on to give props to her Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded guest Cam'ron, who she says paved the way for her to wear pink. Not only did Cam'ron become known for wearing pink clothing, but he drove a bright pink Range Rover in the 2003 music video for his song "Killa Cam."
