New Alanis Morissette Album Due August 28
Facebook.com/AlanisMorissetteAlanis Morissette will release her first album in four years, Havoc and Bright Lights, on August 28. The first single from the disc, her seventh studio album, is called "Guardian" and will hit iTunes May 15.
In a statement, Alanis, who was recently seen as a mentor on The Voice, said, "This record, as always, is a snapshot of what I currently obsess about, care about, and what strikes me at four in the morning in my most introspective moments." She adds, "It is my emotional, psychological, social and philosophical commentary through song."
Writing on her website, Alanis notes of her new music, "I am giddy and nervous and beaming for the chance to begin to share it all with you...let these fun games begin again."
Havoc and Bright Lights will mark Alanis' first album since she got married and gave birth to her son, Ever, who's now 17 months old. Her last album, 2008's Flavors of Entanglement, reached #8 on the Billboard chart.
