Asia Announces 30th Anniversary Tour Dates, New Releases

Frontiers RecordsAsia has announced a complete list of dates for the upcoming U.S. tour celebrating its 30th anniversary.  The trek, which kicks off October 17 in Red Bank, New Jersey, is scheduled to visit 25 cities through a November 23 show in Manistee, Michigan.  The band features its original lineup -- former King Crimson singer/bassist John Wetton, Emerson, Lake & Palmer drummer Carl Palmer, Yes guitarist Steve Howe and Yes/ex-Buggles keyboardist Geoffrey Downes.

In conjunction with the anniversary, the prog-rock supergroup will release a new studio effort titled XXX on July 3.  The first single from the album, "Face on the Bridge," was released this past week and a video for the tune is viewable now online.

"[XXX] encapsulates, lyrically and instrumentally, the essence of Asia today," Wetton says in a statement.  "However, it is the very same four people that gave you the original, iconic album 30 years ago.  If you loved it then, you will love it now."

Also coming from Asia is a deluxe edition of the group's 1982 self-titled debut, which will include two CDs and a DVD featuring the new documentary Asia -- 30 Years On.  In addition, the band is planning to release a new concert DVD, Resonance, in the fall.  The disc features footage of Asia performing in Switzerland during its previous tour.
